Non Executive Chairman
Christopher started his insurance career over 40 years ago and obtained wide experience working for a major London Market broker in their London and Paris offices. He has been with the Group for over 40 years during which period he has played an important part in developing a diverse and well-regarded Marine portfolio before moving on to a more general role as Joint Managing Director.
Non Executive Director
David Harris joined the Aquila Board at the end of 2012. He has nearly 30 years of insurance market experience and was an Executive Director for Amlin plc between 2003 and 2013. His roles ranged from Chief Operating Officer through to Managing Director of Amlin Underwriting Ltd, one of the leading Managing Agents in Lloyd's. Prior to this David held senior roles at AXA and Royal and SunAlliance. David has held various market positions including being a Non Executive of the Lloyd's Market Association. He is a Chartered Insurer.
Non Executive Director
Nigel was a solicitor and partner in Sidley Austin LLP before joining Aquila as a Non-Executive Director in 2016. He has spent many years advising the insurance market in the UK and abroad on transactions and business issues, as well as writing and lecturing on them.
Simon has over 30 years experience in the insurance sector, having worked for many years for Jardine Lloyd Thompson in a number of senior positions both in the UK and the USA. He has also worked closely with the private equity sector, assisting them in strategy and M & A for their insurance-based investments. More recently, Simon became the first Chief Operating Officer of The Shipowners Club, a leading marine insurance mutual and a member of the International Group, where he focussed on strategy, marketing and modernising the operating model.
