Collyers specialises in managing freight liability and marine cargo claims and risks, as well as loss adjusting and surveying. We are highly competitive in providing local, national and global services and delivering expert, experienced and cost effective solutions; each specifically designed for the freight and cargo industries. Claims cost more than time and money. They can grow in aggravation out of all proportion to their actual value, divert people from key business tasks and adversely affect business relationships and profitability. But we've successfully handled hundreds of thousands of claims, hold client delegated settlement authorities of up to €250,000 and our claims adjusters have, on average, nearly 25 years of experience each. We help industry professionals at every level save money, time and trouble; turn negative experiences into positive ones and, ultimately, support their objectives. That's why clients - from liability insurers and brokers, to logistics operators and goods owners - trust Collyers.

John took over the firm in the early '70s, redirecting it from personal lines servicing into the transportation industry. His perspective then, as now; the partnership of youthful enthusiasm and innovation, with the matured values well proven in the 1939 firm. These, he maintains are still our drivers to capture creative opportunities, whatever the economic climate. Business volumes were never this firms target but rather, much rather, the participation with the ambitions of dynamic businesses and their personnel. Achieving solutions is, he says, always a people to people matter and he finds a real buzz in it still. Father of 7, and granddad to 28 grandchildren (and counting) but time allows indulgence in his lifelong delight; sailing, and in quieter times genealogy.
